Bulletin Shorts for the Transfiguration of the Lord

The Transfiguration of the Lord, Feast – Thursday, 06 August 2020

Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14.  Psalm 97:1-2, 5-6, 9.  2 Peter 1:16-19.  Matthew 17:1-9.

Being Transformed.  A truth of the Paschal Mystery (the dying and rising of Jesus the Christ) is this:  What happens to Jesus also happens to us.  He was transformed on the mountain by God’s good action.  He said to his friends, “Rise, and do not be afraid.”  He came down the mountain to remain with them and with us.

  • How am I transformed by God’s goodness?
  • What will I stop fearing?
  • What can I do for those who are near?
